Product Development
NFC Temperature Logger transfer-ready

Vaccines, and many temperature-sensitive goods, degrade over time. Exposure to heat, cold or light can accelerate this process and once potency or quality is lost, it cannot be restored. Cold chain describes the controlled temperature conditions required during storage and distribution to protect product quality.
Our NFC temperature logger development targets continuous logging to point-of-use, with compact formats suited to logistics constraints. Prototype systems have been developed for typical chilled ranges (2°C to 8°C), and work continues on formats suitable for frozen conditions (e.g., -18°C). A healthcare version for temperature monitoring within bandages and wound dressings has also been demonstrated.
This project has been developed to support manufacturing transfer discussions, with build and test documentation available under NDA.
Key Drivers (Cold Chain)

Stringent regulations for temperature-controlled transportation
Increasing demand for quality assurance in pharmaceutical and food supply chains
Continuous temperature logging to point-of-use
Drone Logistics

Compact, lightweight loggers are attractive for drone delivery of medicines and time-critical payloads (including organ transport). We have carried out evaluation work relevant to drone delivery scenarios, including testing with Skyports drone delivery.
Technical Note

In-house process capability includes mounting a compact temperature logger IC (bumped die, 2.51 mm × 2.51 mm × 0.16 mm). The IC includes an Arm Cortex-M0+ processor (up to 8 MHz), NFC interface, internal temperature sensor, and direct battery connection.
